Online booking

  • Can I alter a reservation once it is made? Yes, you can make changes to an online reservation.

  • Can I cancel an online booking and get my money back? Yes, if you can provide a medical certificate. Please note, however, that an administration fee of CHF 15 per person will apply.

Payment

  • Do I have to pay at the start or the end of the rental period? Payments for rental equipment are always made directly at the start of the rental period.

  • What payment methods do you accept? You can pay upon arrival either in cash, by credit card (excluding American Express) or by REKA cheques/cards.

  • Can I pay cash in a foreign currency? Payments are generally made in the local currency, i.e. Swiss francs. Payments in euros are also accepted but any change will be given in Swiss francs.

Opening times

  • Are you open all year round? Yes, the sports shop is open 365 days of the year. Please check the Internet for our seasonal opening times.

Ski service

  • Do you also offer a ski service? Yes, we offer a ski and snowboard service. You can choose from the following:

    • Race service: Base repair, special running surface structure, 87° edge angle, radial tuning from 0.5-0.7°, infrared waxing

    • Top service: Base repair, adjusted Vario gliding surface texture, 88° edge angle, radial tuning from 0.5-0.7°, hot pre and post waxing

    • Standard service: Adjusted Vario gliding surface texture, 88° edge angle, radial tuning from 0.5-0.7°, hot pre and post waxing

    • Other services: Patching (replacement of the original base), hot waxing (with infrared wax), bindings check (electronic binding test in accordance with the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention standard), fitting of bindings

  • When can I collect my skis after servicing? Skis are usually ready for collection the next day after 8 am.  An express service is also available during the day upon request.

Rental equipment

  • Will I get money back if I return the rental equipment earlier? Yes, but only if you return it on the evening before.

  • What ski brands do you have in stock? We stock the following brands: Salomon, Völkl, Atomic, Head, Swiss Massive, Corvo, Fischer

  • Do you also rent ski clothing? Yes, you can also rent ski pants and jackets from our shop.

  • Do you rent avalanche equipment? Yes, we rent air bag backpacks, avalanche transceivers, probes and shovels.

  • Do you rent Telemark and touring equipment? Yes, we rent out Telemark and ski touring equipment.

  • When does rental equipment have to be returned? Rental equipment must be returned before closing time on the last day of rental or on the following day before 9am. Returning items later will result in a charge for an additional day of rental.

  • When is the earliest possible time for collecting rental equipment? Rental items can be collected on the day before from 4 pm.

  • Does the rental price include locker storage? Yes, if you rent skis from us then you can store rental equipment free of charge overnight in our lockers.

  • Can I change skis during the rental period? Yes, you can change skis during the rental period. But if you wish to exchange your skis for a more expensive model, there is an additional charge.

  • Can I also store my own equipment in your storage facilities? Customers can store their own equipment in our lockers in our shop on the second floor. The lockers cost CHF 12 per day and can hold two pairs of skis and two pairs of ski shoes.

  • Can I also rent sledges? Yes, customers can rent wooden sledges from our shop at the valley station (child seats are available upon request). There is a rental charge of CHF 10 per day and cash deposit of CHF 50 per sledge (refunded upon return).

  • Do I need to book in advance? No, it is not necessary to book in advance - we have enough equipment in stock. If you would like to rent a specific ski model during high season, however, it would be best to tell us in advance.

  • I want to rent skis for six days but take one day's break in between. Does the rental period restart? Yes, if you decide to break up the rental period, the period will be recalculated.

Location

  • How far is the sports shop from the mountain railway and lifts? The Dorsaz Sport shop is right next to the Matterhorn glacier paradise valley station.

Miscellaneous

  • Do you also sell ski passes? No, but you can obtain ski passes from the lift operator, Zermatt Bergbahnen, right next to us at the Matterhorn glacier paradise valley station.

  • Do you offer ski lessons? No, we do not offer skiing lessons but we will happily recommend skiing schools in Zermatt.
